HAND-DYED TESSITURA LA COLOMBINA ENTIRELY HAND-WOVEN PURE CARIAGGI CASHMERE YARN CLOTH WITH SPECIAL E. GHIRINGHELLI JACQUARD DESIGN LININGS, SILK HAND-STITCHED BUTTONHOLES AND SPECIAL FONTANA DESIGN REAL HORN BUTTON STORY
THIS super limited edition GBS Evolution VIII EV8J02 waistcoat design is the only one of its kind being made by hand in the world this year. It was created exclusively from our exclusive classic 19th century waistcoat pattern from our extensive tailoring research, and cut using one of the softest fabrics made in the world… an extraordinary all new ultrasoft pure Italian Cariaggi cashmere yarn hyperlux fabric that was woven entirely by hand by Tessitura La Colombina on their legendary 18th century wooden hand looms at Badoere di Morgano requiring almost a day and half of master work just to make enough cloth for a single waistcoat, combined with an exquisite lining story in luxury viscosa jacquard created by Ezio Ghiringhelli in Varese-- then specially dyed by hand in our world-famous GBS Superworkrooms at Cavarzere Venezia using a process that required over 12 hours of expert work to achieve its unique color, patina effects, shaping, drape and incredible softness. The design features a classic cut with beautiful fully-lined clean finished interior construction, no less than impeccably tailored hand-cut patch pockets fully clean finished and lined with pure Como silk, generous 2,5 centimeter seam allowances on major seams that allow the piece to be altered and let out up to a full size larger than its original cut, an elegant composition story of pure horn 2-hole button designs made for us by the world’s greatest living buttonmakers—Claudio and Cinzia Fontana in Parma, Italy--and five of our signature real hand-stitched buttonholes in pure silk Bozzolo Reale Milano Seta threads (which required at least 12-15 minutes to create each one on the challengingly delicate hand-woven fabric). The piece also features our world leading hand-dyed pure silk label created exclusively for us by Mion SpA in Torreglia- the first label in the luxury industry to completely eliminate plastic polyester yarns in it which was hand-dyed to achieve its beautiful color and lustre and exquisitely attached by hand using pure silk threads. Variations in color and color density are not imperfections or irregularities, but specific characteristics of this special technique.
