THIS super limited edition GBS Evolution IX EV9C04 coat design is one of only 4 pieces of its kind made by hand in the entire world, each created exclusively from our original A-line fly front 5-button self-lined coat pattern, from our extensive tailoring research, and cut using a very special “superleggero” superllightweight pure natural white cotton diagonal twill cloth woven in Varese, Italy--the world's leading region for fine linen and cotton fabric production--combined with a very lightweight, super soft and breathable full-lining story in pure cupro Bemberg-type luxury lining fabric in contrast black made for us by Tessitura Mauri in Como, Italy for maximum comfort and coolness; then specially individually entirely hand-waxed with pure natural beeswax in our world-famous GBS Superworkrooms at Cavarzere Venezia using our special GBS hyper-sustainable artisan research process first developed and introduced to the industry more than 7 years ago in our 2019 Paris "Radical Numbers" men's research collection--which required over 10 hours of expert work for each piece to achieve its all natural waterproofing characteristics (with no dangerous PFA’s, plastics or toxic chemicals), and amazing colors, textures and patina effects. The design features beautifully crafted fly-front construction, beautiful contrast dark silk thread hand-stitched detailing work on cuff tabs fly-front and lapel and pockets, real hand-cut welt pockets, impeccable clean-finished fully lined interior work, remarkable hand-sewn real horn buttons made exclusively for us by the world's greatest living buttonmakers--Claudio and Cinzia Fontana in Parma Italy--and no less than seven of our signature real hand-stitched buttonholes (that required at least 10-15 minutes to create each one) in luxurious pure silk Bozzolo Reale Milano Seta threads. The piece also features our world leading pure silk label created exclusively for us by Mion SpA in Torreglia which is the first label in the luxury industry to completely eliminate plastic polyester yarns in it--beautifully attached completely by hand with pure silk threads. Variations in color and color density are not imperfections or irregularities, but specific characteristics of the special fabric, hand-waxing and hand-making techniques.

Did you know that virtually all modern rainwear today is dangerous to your health? Using textiles or Teflon-type spray treatments in order to render them waterproof, they contain dangerous cancerogenous PFA's, plastics and chemical fibres particles that can be ingested and transmitted into your body as well as the environment. Despite growing medical data spotlighting the correlation between exposure to PFA's and cancer in humans, the textile and clothing industry has done little or nothing to address the issue. This ongoing fight against the use of plastics and PFA's in textiles led way back in June of 2019 to the first GBS hyper-quality sustainable & health conscious rainwear concepts using a centuries-old artisan technology based upon using wax by bees with the development and introduction of the first entirely hand painted beeswaxed raincoat and jacket as part of Geoffrey B.
