THIS special pure Alashan cashmere version of the super limited edition VA-1 coat design is the only one of its kind made in the entire world. It is a collector’s item created exclusively for GBS Private at Le Berger in Tokyo from our original classic 3-button VA-1 notch-lapeled fitted minimalist coat pattern, from our extensive tailoring research. The one-of-a-kind supercoat was very carefully cut, constructed and finished by hand with over 40 hours of work using the superlux 3-ply 550 gram pure Alashan cashmere coating cloth that was made by the world’s oldest still operating woolen mill and most respected cashmere fabric makers- Fratelli Piacenza 1733 in Pollone Biella, Italy. It was combined with a special lining story combination of pure silk raso satin Persian floral and Botticelli floral print designs made exclusively for us by the legendary Brenna family of master silk printers in Como- the world’s leading center for fine silk fabric creation... then individually hand washed and treated in our world famous GBS Superworkrooms for extra aging, shaping, drape and softness. The design features extensive hand stitch detailing design elements on the shoulder seams and all the way down the center back seam and vent of the coat executed in pure silk Bozzolo Reale Milano threads, generous 2.5 centimeter seam allowances on all major seams which provide alteration capability for a full size up or down, all handmade real working buttonhole surgeon’s sleeve cuffs, exquisite artisan made horn button designs created exclusively in Parma for us by Claudio and Cinzia Fontana, the world’s greatest living-button makers, and no less than 10 of our signature hand-stitched buttonholes in pure silk Bozzolo Reale Milano Seta thread which required at least 10-14 minutes to create each one, and is hand-signed and numbered by the designer. The piece also features our world leading hand dyed pure silk label created exclusively for us by Mion SpA in Torreglia which is the first label in the luxury industry to completely eliminate plastic polyester yarns in it—beautifully attached entirely by hand using pure silk threads. Variations in color and color density are not imperfections or irregularities, but specific characteristics of the special fabric fibres and special hand washing and treatment techniques. Please treat buttons and buttonholes with care. We recommend only competent top professional handling and cleaning or hand washed in cold water and protect buttons when washing. Do not wash with other items. Do not put in machine washer or dryer.
