THIS super limited edition RNZ12.2 handmade recycle vintage leather trainer shoe design reduces environmental impact and carbon emissions, and helps fight global warming. It is one of only 16 pairs of its kind made by hand in the entire world. Of these, just 11 pairs were created for all of Europe, each exclusively for Darklands in Berlin. It was made using recycled garment leathers carefully selected, hand-cut, and hand-patchworked together, from our intensive research, Italian pure calfskin leather linings, and 2-tone natural rubber soles, all combined into a durable classic American late 1950’s sneaker design. The unique shoes were made for us in San Zenone degli Ezzelini by the Italian master, Giuseppe Rebesco, and by mountain shoe specialists in Montebelluna, a region famous for mountain shoe making a leading historical expert specialist in hand crafted footwear making. Each of the leathers was hand drawn and cut in the original method utilized since the middle ages period of shoe crafting and then meticulously assembled in a very slow and painstaking process. Each item is a unique one-of-a-kind and signed by the designer. Variations in color and color density are not imperfections or irregularities, but specific characteristics of the genuine recycled Italian garment leathers, ancient hand shoe making technique and style.
