THIS super limited edition GBS Evolution IX EV9WS01 handmade shirt design is one of only 3 pieces made by hand in the entire world from a modified baseball-inspired interpretation of a 1940's long tailored undershirt pattern from our extensive work wear period tailoring research, and cut using a combination of two different "superleggero" superlightweight linen and cotton striped weave reaearch shirting fabrics created only for us by the world's leading resarch fabric maker--Luigi Parisotto in Sarcedo Vicenza, Italy--then individually and specially GBS multiple hand accident-dyed in our world-famous GBS Superworkrooms using a series of unique proprietary techniques and processes that required over 22 hours of expert work for the single piece to achieve its special mottled colors, patina effects, shaping, drape and softness. The design features a 2-tone striped full button-down front interpretation of an authentic 1940’s long tailored undershirt pattern cut and fit from our extensive work wear period research with modified triangular sideseam hemline reinforcements, elegant rounded neckline, expert single-needle stitching throughout, impeccably clean finished all-french-seamed interior construction, incredible advanced "Granitizzata" granitized finish real horn shirt button designs made only for us by the world’s greatest living buttonmakers--Claudio and Cinzia Fontana in Parma Italy--and no less than 8 of our signature real hand stitched buttonholes (each one required 10-13 minutes to cut and sew, over 2 hours of expert and painstaking work on buttonholes and buttons alone for the single shirt) in luxurious pure silk Bozzolo Reale Milano Seta threads. The piece also features our world leading hand dyed pure silk label created exclusively for us by Mion SpA in Torreglia- the first label in the luxury industry to completely eliminate plastic polyester yarns in it--beautifully attached entirely by hand using pure silk thread.
