This super limited edition GBS Evolution IX EV9J14 extreme handmade cardigan design is one of only 7 pieces of its kind being made by hand in the entire world, each created from our original 4-button semi-blouson style cardigan based upon a modified early 1900's American baseball shirt pattern and cut using a spectacular completely handwoven Italian silk, linen and cotton yarn textured weave complex plaid check fabric first created exclusively for us by the late master weaver Giuseppe "Pino" Colombo on the 18th century wooden hand looms of Tessitura La Colombina in Badoere di Morgano, Italy requiring almost 2 full days to create just enough cloth to make the single jacket--combined with beautiful half linings in pure silk 16 momme raso satin exclusive paisley print fabric made for us by the legendary Brenna family in Como, Italy--the world's leading center for fine silk fabric creation--along with pure cupro Bemberg-type sleeve linings made for us by Tessitura Mauri also in Como, then specially hand dyed in our world famous GBS Superworkrooms at Cavarzere Venezia using a process that required over 10 hours of expert work to achieve its unique colors, patina effects, shaping and softness. The design features an old world elegant shape with early 20th century baseball accents and an array of immaculate extreme handwork technology detailing and finishing including entirely handstitched pockets with pure silk linings, all handsewn collar and front facings, all handsewn hems, beautifully clean finished interior with elegantly scalloped silk shoulder linings impeccably finished with Italian cotton taped seams, all handstitched luxurious "lucido" gloss finished real horn large form button designs made only for us by the world's greatest living buttonmakers--Claudio and Cinzia Fontana in Collechio di Parma, Italy; and no less than 6 of our signature real hand stitched buttonholes which required at least 12-18 minutes to create each one, (over 2 hours of painstaking expert work just to make the buttonholes and buttons alone for the single piece) all with pure silk Bozzolo Reale Seta Milan threads which cost over 1.40 euros per meter of thread at current wholesale market valuation. The piece also features our world leading pure silk hand dyed label created exclusively for us by Mion SpA in Torreglia which is the first label in the luxury industry to completely eliminate plastic polyester yarns in it--beautifully attached entirely by hand using pure silk threads.
