THIS special version of the super limited edition ETC01 handmade topcoat design is one of only 2 pieces of its kind made by hand in the entire world. It was created exclusively for Darklands in Berlin, from our original single-breasted 3-button notched-lapel classic car coat length pattern, from our extensive tailoring research, and cut using a superlux, supersoft 540 gram 3-ply Alashan pure cashmere coating cloth woven in Pollone Biella, Italy, by the oldest woolen mill and most respected cashmere makers in the world, Fratelli Piacenza 1733 Spa... combined with a fully-lined luxury lining story in an exclusive pure 16-momme silk raso Darkland’s gramophone “evolution of sound” print lining created for us by the legendary Brenna family in Como, the world’s leading silk production region, then specially hand dyed, washed and treated in our workrooms at Cavarzere Venezia using an intricate series of processes which required over 12 hours of painstaking expert work to achieve its beautiful colors, chiaroscuro patina effects, shaping and softness. The design features real working buttonhole handmade surgeon's cuffs, hand-cut besom welt and flap pockets and tailored center vent, hidden lapel button which allows the coat to be buttoned all the way up for cooler weather or sportier styling, generous 2,5 centimeter seam allowances on major fitting seams that allow the coat to be altered and let out a full size larger than its original cut, impeccably finished interior with handsewn hems and closures, remarkable new “Alessandro” design real horn buttons made for us by the world’s greatest living buttonmakers- Claudio and Cinzia Fontana in Parma, and no less than 10 of our signature real hand-stitched buttonholes (that required 10-15 minutes to cut and sew each one) all done in pure silk Bozzolo Reale Seta Milan thread. The piece also features our world leading pure silk hand dyed label created exclusively for us by Mion SpA in Torreglia which is the first label in the luxury industry to completely eliminate plastic polyester yarns in it--beautifully attached completely by hand using pure silk threads . Variations in color and color density are not imperfections or irregularities, but specific characteristics of the special fabric and hand making technique. Please treat buttons and buttonholes with care. We recommend professional clean only or hand wash cold water and protecting buttons with foil or plastic wrap when washing. Do not put in machine washer or dryer.
